Hog roasting has been around for hundreds of years. There is nothing quite like the smell of the hog sizzling, and the mouth-watering taste of the delicious meat and crackling. Your guests will be treated to a fantastic meal that they won't forget. This is also the most cost effective way of feeding a large number of people. It makes the perfect winter warmer or the ideal summer afternoon or evening feast for any occasion- whether it’s a Wedding, special Birthday or Anniversary party, Charity or Corporate event - in your own home or at any venue. Ideal and very economical for 40 to over 200 guests. ( the more guests the better value it becomes)
There are various options to choose:-
A WHOLE HOG – fresh from the farm- not the supermarket! Cooked and basted for several hours before our arrival, with the crackling pre-salted and cut into thin strips for easy serving. For 40- 200 guests
A WHOLE LAMB - cooked and basted with herbs. For about 25 guests.
A MIXED MEAT CARVERY - you can have all or any combination of the following- whole chickens or turkey, pork, lamb, beef, and sausages.
CARVE & SERVE- we will provide a person to carve the meat and one to serve -depending on the number of guests- so you can sit back and enjoy being waited on!
The above can be accompanied with bread rolls and a selection of sauces including tomato, apple, mint sauce, mustard and mayonnaise.
BAKED POTATOES and a large selection of DELICIOUS MIXED SALADS are also offered.
VEGETARIANS- we can cook whole salmon or any other fish, and supply other vegetarian dishes such as rice and vegetables, tuna pasta, quiches, and lots more.
DESSERTS- Who could resist the home made banoffee pie, strawberry pavlovas, fresh fruit salad and other sweet treats we offer.
Our spit roaster machine has been developed over 5 years, and is a multi-functional gas spit roasting oven complete with large rotisserie, made entirely from catering grade stainless steel. It can cook a whole Hog up to 80 kilos.
The machine is transported on a trailer so is ideal to take to any venue.( but no steep stairs or steps please!) It can be used indoors, as long as there is good ventilation, as well as outdoors- so poor weather is not a problem.
Please note we do not hire out machines.
A large whole pig can take several hours to cook, and we need at least 7 days notice to order from the farm.
